Chapter 3: Introducing Your New Dog to Your Resident Dog
Rules for Time at home:
Decompression: Give the foster dog a separate room or designated area (with a baby gate) for a few days to adjust to new sights, sounds, and smells without pressure
Create a Sanctuary: Ensure the foster has their own safe space (crate, bed) and resources (food/water bowls)
Separate Resources: Keep all high-value items (chew toys, bones, Kongs) and food bowls in separate areas initially to prevent resource guarding
