Built on Love.
Powered by Volunteers.

Love's Legacy Rescue was founded by Amanda, whose belief that every dog deserves a second chance set everything in motion. What started as one person's mission to pull dogs from Southern California's overcrowded shelters has grown into a foster-based rescue that saves lives every single day — no kennels, no building, just heart. Amanda built LLR from the ground up, and her passion for the dogs who need us most continues to drive everything we do. Today, a small but mighty team of dedicated volunteers keeps Love's Legacy running — coordinating transports, finding fosters, placing dogs in forever homes, and showing up for every dog who comes through our doors.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Amanda was born and raised in Northern California, and her passion for animals goes back as far as she can remember — including childhood afternoons watching Animal Precinct and dreaming of making a difference for animals in need.

When the 2018 Northern California wildfires devastated communities, Amanda launched an Instagram account to reunite lost and displaced pets with their families and soon realized she could move mountains through networking, entirely from her phone.

In 2020, Amanda adopted an English bulldog puppy she named Love. She was devastated to watch her beloved puppy suffer from an undiagnosed condition. Despite every effort to save her, Love passed away in July 2021, taking a piece of Amanda with her.

It was in that grief that Love's Legacy Rescue was born. When Amanda learned about the crisis in shelters, healthy, adoptable dogs being euthanized by the thousands, she knew those dogs deserved a chance.
