A stressed dog may show:
Lip licking
Yawning (when not tired)
Whale eye (showing whites of eyes)
Freezing in place
Tail tucked
Stiff body posture
Support them by creating distance, slowing down, and reassuring with calm praise. Watch both dogs for these signs; your resident dog may also show stress about the new situation.
