An exciting new chapter for Love’s Legacy Rescue

Introducing Love’s Legacy Rescue Ranch

I want to believe that when bad things happen, life is simply redirecting us toward a different path.

What happened with Blu and Igor changed everything for us.

For years, we have relied on foster homes, boarding facilities, trainers, and partners to help us save dogs. While we are incredibly grateful for the people who have stepped up along the way, losing Blu forced us to take a hard look at how we operate. It made us realize that we can no longer continue doing rescue the way we’ve always done it.

We need a safe place of our own.

A place where dogs with nowhere to go can stay safely until the right foster or forever home is found. A place for dogs who need structure, decompression, medical care, training, or simply time. A place where we know they are safe because they are under our care.

Losing Blu changed our rescue forever. It changed me personally. My trust has been broken, and it has reinforced how important it is that we build something we can depend on ourselves. Moving forward, I want our dogs cared for by our team and a small network of experienced fosters we know and trust.

Today, we are incredibly excited to announce the beginning of a new chapter: Love’s Legacy Rescue Ranch.

This facility is essential to the future of our lifesaving efforts. It will allow us to help dogs who would otherwise have nowhere to go and provide them with the environment they need to thrive while we search for the perfect home.

The property itself was once a dairy farm, and the building we are transforming into our rescue ranch was originally used for milking cows. Because of that, it has extensive electrical infrastructure that has already been upgraded, giving us a strong foundation to build from.

We love the idea that a place that once was used to exploit animals will now have a new purpose helping animals in need.

The ranch sits on 21 beautiful acres in a unique pocket of Sonoma County where the temperatures tend to stay cooler thanks to the ocean breeze. The building has air conditioning, concrete construction that helps keep it naturally cool, and excellent airflow. Behind us, 10 cows still call the property home, and we have access to walk our dogs throughout the surrounding acreage, giving them space to decompress, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. The property also includes a home where three of our team members will be living, allowing us to have a consistent on-site presence and provide even more hands-on care for the dogs.

Right now, we are starting from the ground up. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and this is all we could afford at the moment. Most of us are volunteering our time, and we are building this as bare-bones as possible. We have an amazing group of people working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this dream a reality. We ask for a little patience as we work through the process because we truly believe this is going to become something amazing.

The one thing we need is funding.

We will soon be unveiling sponsorship opportunities and ways for businesses and individuals to become part of this mission. Until then, we are asking for your help. Whether it’s a donation, supplies, sharing our posts, or simply cheering us on, every bit of support brings us one step closer.

Because of this transition, Love’s Legacy Rescue remains on intake hold while we focus on building a stronger, safer future for the dogs who depend on us.

We are so excited for what’s ahead. This is only the beginning.
If you would like to help us build Love’s Legacy Rescue Ranch, please consider making a donation today. Together, we can create something truly special for the dogs who need us most. ❤️
